    Ronald McDonald House Fundraiser

    http://www.meninkilts.rmhcseattle.org

I'm curious to hear some feedback from the forum about this Ronald McDonald House fundraiser for Washington and Alaska.

There are photos of several men in kilts, and for a $25 donation, one can vote for the winner.

Here's the copy that accompanies the campaign:

"Individuality. Strength. Unabashed boldness in the face of conventionality.
These are the standards to which a man wearing a kilt holds himself.
Is it coincidence the qualities found in a man who wears a kilt are the same that help raise funds for families with seriously ill children? We think not.

It is with great pride that we present to you
    Men in Kilts to benefit
    Ronald McDonald House Charities®
    of Western Washington & Alaska

These brave and valiant gentlemen are donning kilts to raise money for the families at the Seattle Ronald McDonald House. Pick your favorite and cast your vote as many times as you like. Each vote is $25 and sponsors one night of housing for a family."

The fellow who asked me to vote for him has one of the more comical ensembles.

    That should fix the link.

I just put it as a strait link. Without the URL= code.

I cannot see a single kilt on there which is being worn anywhere near correctly, except Len Giannola. Most are wrong way round, too long, too short and some just not a real kilt, look more like tartan skirts. But it's a good cause.... so i'm just an old grouch

Thank you, that's my reaction, as well. I'm not feeling so charitable, seeing my national garment worn in such a way.

Sadly, doesn't appear to be a single hand sewn kilt.... but hey, for a good cause. They need a Ronald Macdonald in a hand sewn tank entry....a little fat, but from the kilt quality and name might have a chance.....

    Re: Ronald McDonald House Fundraiser

Without counting, it looks like half or more have the pleats in front! Wow, how could that happen in such an orchestrated event? I'm a pretty casual guy, but a quick internet search would let you know how it should look, even when dressing kilted very casually.

Len Giannola who owns a McDonalds stands out as looking much better than the rest. Forrest Söderlind (with a claymore) is also the only one in his trio with the pleats in back, points given there...points also to Carter Turk on the bike...might not be too bad as a very casual look, even if the kilt looks long and the bike matches the kilt!
