Quite a variety of kilts
This is a publicity photo for a fundraiser during New York's Tartan Week coming up.
This is the text along with it:
"Scotland Unfiltered is a speical one-off fundraising event in association with 21st Century Kilts and Scots-based charity Developing World Health. Offering a unique take on Scotland’s diverse culture and heritage at one of New York’s most stylish venues, The Parlour Midtown, kilts and cocktail attire are requested for the opening champagne reception at 7.30pm followed by cocktails, malt whisky and beer tastings. There’s also a preview screening of cult Scottish feature film Electric Man and a special guest appearance by one of the hottest Scottish bands to emerge on the electro rock scene."

I found the pockets a bit odd and found this on the 21st Century Kilts website
"FRONT POCKETS — Detachable and Lined to match the triple fringe etc. Permanent buttons of your choice are attached to the front of the Kilt and wide Velcro on the inside. Ideal for more frequent kilt wearing, priced as a pair. They should not be worn with socks up and garter flashes."

The kilts look too long to my eyes. The two chaps on the far right look about the best IMHO.

Better yet, they should not be worn at all!!
I do fancy the weathered looking tartan center left in the photo though. Does anyone recognize it?

I would happily wear 90% of the jackets and vests without any hesitation.

I don't know whether to laugh , or cry. The "cringe" factor needle on my gauge is way into the red and I just cannot imagine why they all look so happy!
On second thoughts perhaps best not answer that!

Easy one, Jock. It is because they are models and they are all getting paid to be there.
I too like most of the jackets/waistcoats, save for the tartan one left of center and the patchwork one center. But I can also do without the pockets, below knee length of many of the kilts, and the lack of sporrans on many of the gentlemen. Call me traditional, what can I say. Oh, where are the flatcaps, too?
One last thing I noticed is that they are all wearing the same kilt pin, at least the ones I can see. Can I presume that is a trademeark pin for 21st Century Kilts?
