Kilted at the Local Pow Wow

Its raining and snowing today (mid-April??) and the local high school is having their annual Unity Pow Wow. Indoors in the high school gym to stay out of the weather.

Got over there geared up in my Tilley hat with a new beaded hat band I added, my new Desert Sand Scottevest (no room in the pouch of my L&M beaver sporran for the stuff I need to carry. Just wore the sporran for decoration). My Macdonald Lord of the Isles tartan kilt hand sewn by Kathy Lare. A new necklace I bought at the pow-wow...wearing a necklace with a kilt is "out there" for me...

'twas a good time...lots of Navajo friends dancing. The little kids are SOOOO Cute in their elaborate costumes...and they dance with such fury and intensity. Four drum groups there today and in the gym with a PA system they were LOUD!

Nary a comment on the kilt - think the town is pretty used to it by now.

"I'll have a kilt please, a nice hand sewn tartan, 16 ounce Strome. Oh, and a sporran on the side, with a strap please."
