How ti install a pin lock closure on a sporran

After a long hunt, we were able to obtain a single pin closure from a company in the UK. But it arrived with no instructions on how to install it.

Does anyone have any advice? Or instructions or a link to instructions? It's a standard pin lock - nothing fancy.

    Any help is much appreciated

Maybe you could post a photo of the parts? I imagine that the receiver of the pin has a way to secure it into the envelope portion of the sporran - perhaps with a threaded part that goes through a hole and another threaded part that screws onto it. Best to see what you have or if it was gotten on-line maybe a link.

I would suggest a PM to one of our fine sporran makers on the forum. Artificer, Turpin or Harold Cannon I am sure one them would point you in the right direction. Apologies if I have left anyone out.

I gather you mean a pin lock like the one below

The lock ring is riveted (chicago screwed) to the front body of the sporran and a hole is made in the flap to allow the lock ring to pass through. See below photo

The pin and chain is then secured, in the case of my sporran to a hole on the side of the flap. See photo below.

Hope this is of some help
