Kilt Appreciation At The Post Office Today

So I live in a small town where the post office doesn't deliver mail. We all get post office boxes and have to pick it up. Four clients graduated from my agency's residential treatment program so I dressed up to celebrate a bit at the graduation. On the way I stopped to check for any last minute mail for the clients.

I'm wearing my hand sewn Modern Scott Red kilt, L&M sporran, Filson vest to hold the stuff the sporran won't, Lewis Kilt Hose, Traditional garter ties...et.al.

A guy about in his 40s says, "Are you wearing your kilt in the traditional manner?" Told him "Not at work." Then he says, "Aren't you cold?" Responded, "No, heat rises and I've got a heater under there." He cracked up.

As I left the post office a lovely lady was coming in and she said, "Nice kilt." about the way a man would wolf whistle. Can't help but feeling on top of the world. Been a while since any of he locals have commented on my kilts. Kinda nice to hear it again.

    Here's the pleat shot.

"I'll have a kilt please, a nice hand sewn tartan, 16 ounce Strome. Oh, and a sporran on the side, with a strap please."

You are very lucky: small town, may be, but with civilized inhabitants. If I could choose.....

Fantastic, my grandfather, a proud Currie of Balilone, worked for the US Postal service in a small town for 40 years. He would have loved this.
