Windows 8 issues?
The forum’s message editor has not been working properly for me. The most annoying issue is that it won’t recognized the ‘ENTER’ key. So I can’t advance to a new line. I now have to type messages in an external editor, then copy and paste to the X-Marks editor.
I recently had to get a new computer, so I am running Windows 8. I was wondering if anyone else is running Windows 8, and if they are experiencing the same issue. And, of course, it would be most helpful if someone knows of a solution.
Thanks,
Truitt

i'm a Systems Administrator (IT Geek) for an Advertising Agency in NYC, I wouldn't be running windows 8 for at least a year, Microsoft never gets it correct right out of the box.
is there a way you can downgrade to Windows 7? I know some computers are coming with the option to upgrade to Windows 8..

You don't say which web browser you are using, so I will assume it's Internet Explorer, version 8? Have you tried using Firefox? It would be interesting to see if it's an IE8 problem, or truly a Win8 problem. I appologize that I can't be more helpful. I'm still on Win7 (I'm also a Firefox fan.)

yes I would try Firefox, or even Chrome...
You are probably on IE9 or even 10 maybe if it was released with Windows 8..
Try to download Firefox, or Google Chrome.
Google Chrome is known to be a faster web brewers, although Google tends to do a lot of updates to Chrome, which in my opinion makes it a less stable browser..
Firefox is more stable with less updates

Thank you for the responses.
The motherboard on my old computer died. The new computer I bought came with Windows 8, and I loaded OfficePro 2013. I can’t say that I am particularly impressed with either as compared to their older versions, but it would be difficult to go back. Besides, I do want to learn the new “cloud-based” system.
I am running Internet Explorer 10. I have never bothered to use Firefox or Google Chrome, as IE has always worked well for me and I like to keep things simple. I may try Chrome since it is already on my system (google loaded it without asking…I must have missed a checkbox somewhere). But, the issue with the X-Marks editor is the first to present itself, and I’m not sure of the cause. It just happened to coincide with me getting the new computer.
Thanks again for the troubleshooting ideas.

I am using Chrome right now
and the editor does recognize the return key. So it evidently is an IE 10 issue
I guess I will have to use Chrome whilst checking the forum. Someday I may break down and try Firefox.
Thanks again for the responses.
Cheers,
Truitt

I must be the exception. The Mac I tried was more trouble than it was worth...but to each his own

There is a slight learning curve but once you get the hang of it you wonder, "WHY ON EARTH DOES MICROSOFT DO IT THAT WAY?!?!"
