Me in my kilt chatting with Billy Connolly
This shot was taken with me in my kilt at the Fredericton Highland Games with Billy Connolly, a friend from way back in the teenage years. We were reminiscing about the Glasgow Folk Center, partying and the times we drank together on Saturday afternoons singing folk songs at the Scotia. Glasgow’s oldest Pub on Stockwell St.

Stephen, was that when he was in Canada shooting his series through the Northwest Passage. I loved his reflections on "our home and native land."

I freaking love Billy Connolly's work! His standup, his films, and his documentaries are absolutely a joy to watch.
He has a bit in his standup show poking fun of the fact that he always dies in his films. He says something along the lines of, "don't miss the first twenty minutes or you'll miss my part. They always kill me off in the first part of the movie." Except in "Mrs Brown."

SOOOOOOOOO unbelievably jealous!!!!!
I have always wanted to speak with him, he's one of the '10 friends at the dinner table' victims for a hypothetical supper.......
"The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it" (Terry Pratchett).

Indeed he would be a good one at the dinner table, still very much the same manner about him (all be it tea total now) as when we lived in Scotland. He now lives most of the time in NY and make a trip each year in late in late Aug to Aberdeenshire where, as Laird of the Manner, he tours the Highland games in the village that he bought and where he has his castle (bit of a change from a council flat in Anderson) he loves the highland games. If you like his patter (as they say in Glasgow) look at the skit Robin Williams did on the game of golf, Connolly gave him some of the concept ideas, they are great friends.
