    Presbyterian tartan?

    This:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Presbyterian...item43c59501a3

I did a search here and didn't come across any reference to this tartan (I searched thread titles only, there might be something buried in the 20 pages of 'presbyterian' when I searched titles and posts).

Looks like a slight variation on the typical Allen Brothers "thre stryppis vpvn ane fylde" thing, with the "ane stryp yn ye myddest" doubled in alternating "fyldes".

Hi Richard. I have searched for Presbyterian tartans several times in the past, as I am a Presbyterian clergy, and as you note, I have been unsuccessful in finding one. To my eyes, this tartan looks like the Clark/Clergy Tartan with the white stripes removed and some replaced with red stripes. Now I also have to say ... I like it! And I would give it serious consideration, if I could find it... Presbyterian or not.

This is a new on on me. The cloth appears to be a good worsted but I am suspicious of the naming.

This kilt is tailor maid, using premium fabric imported from Scotland , and was in kilt rental buisness. It is in gently used condition with no visible defects, was dry cleaned after each use.
I am not tartan expert, just relying on the tag that came with it. There could be variations of Presbyterian tartan. Kilt in pictures is the one you will be geting.

Look in particular at the bolt text. Just because someone put a label on it named Presbyterian doesn't mean that that's what it was originally called. The sett is more akin to the Blue MacKay/Morgan but with the blue ground extended by adding a double red stripe on the alternate square.
