    first kilt, need advice

    hey everyone!
This morning I got measured for my first kilt and I am a little rounder than I wanted to be! My question is this....

The kilt maker that I went to gets tartans from House of Edgar while I have another option to go with Lochcarron of Scotland. I am going for a 13 oz medium weight kilt.

    What are your thoughts?

    Thanks all!

I expect that the kiltmakers on the board will chime in, but it is my understanding that although all the major weavers do good work, there are differences that lead kiltmakers to have their own preferences. I would talk to your kiltmaker as to why they want to use a particular mill.

Another reason may be the Tartan you chose. Some weavers stock some Tartans, other weavers other Tartans. No one can possibly stock all 12,000 Tartans in all the weights and all the color versions..
