    A new look...

Just a quick pic from our recent trip to FL. Not usually a hat person, but I bought this one at the Zoo and liked it. Kind of a different look for me.

interesting look...sort of indiana jones meets braveheart meets dilbert...

I can see how this would cause the women-folk to swoon!!!

but seriously...I've got a hat similar to that ( aussie outback hat ), and I'l have a bunch of similar pics up in june with that and a kilt!

quick question...what did the monkies do when you walked past their cage in the kilt? did they respond like most people do, or just fling poo at you ( like monkies normally do)?

Good on you KCW, It's not such an odd look here in Oz, well perhaps with the UK but hey! Looks good with the colours you chose. What's the background?

Everyone needs a really fine, wide-brimmed hat for the outdoors. Glad to see you getting kitted out properly.

I wouldn't dare go backpacking without a wide-brimmed hat. I'd ROAST! That looks like a good one.

Nice chapeau, my friend: I'm fond of a good wide brimmed lid myself.

Bryan...no really, tell us about the background...

Kilted KT, we stayed away from the monkey house, did not want to start anything untoward... And I don't mind the comparison to Braveheart and Indiana Jones, but I resemble the comparison to Dilbert! Just because I have a cell phone on my kilt belt and work in IT is no reason....

For the other questions about the background, it is a very special place. We were there on the last day of our trip. The girls were having a great time paying and we had nothing left to do except get on the plane. It had been a beautiful day, and a lucky one for us, as the car rental company messed up and only charged us a single day for a week's rental! So there we were waiting for our plane, I had tha hat handy as I did not want to have it rushed in our luggage and what should we find? A playground in the terminal for United airlines at Tampa airport! The picture is me in front of the mural at the kid's play area at the airport! I have to agree it looks really nice, especialy with the kilt and hat, but is not very impressive when you know what it really is!

As for the hat, I will keep it in my wardrobe. I actually enjoyed wearing it (being someone who has never embraced hats), and it is so light that it eliminates my maing gripe with hats, that they are too hot.

I work in IT as well...have two cell phones and work in a cube farm...as I am sure many of us do! Consider it more of a acknowledgement of one who represents a great many of us...
