Drambouie
I don't know if this was posted, but Drambouie has a Braveheart lookalike in one of their ads.
BTW, does anybody know where I can get one of those sweet leather-armor vest thingies?

I've seen the commercial. I was going to post about it, but never thought about while online.

Haven't seen the ad. Got a picture? I can probably recommend *someone* for it.

I couldn't find the ad, but here's a photo of the leather-armor vest thingie.
It's just a padded leather armor vest, but I can't seem to find a good one online.

On the subject of the liquor (as opposed to the "leathervestthingie" ), I had heard that this was a favorite drink of the Bonnie Prince made from whisky, honey, and herbs; I'd also heard that the name was a contraction on the Gaelic, that meant something like "a satisifying drink" (an dram buidheach, maybe?). Any scholars out there want to correct my tragically flawed spelling?
Bryan...been busy, but I'm still around...

It's not padded. That's a "brigandine," and completely out-of-period for William Wallace.
See the pictures a little more than halfway down the page at The Inner Bailey - some of our other members have recommended them for belts. I know nothing about the quality of their armor pieces.

I have a friend that owns a custom costume shop. He will make one (last time I asked about a price it was $350 but that was about 5 years ago - I borrowed one to go to the Ren Fest once, I can attest that they are well made). If you are interested I can get his info for you, and probably get a pic on one he already has.

It's a top drink especially for singers. Keeps you all limber like, Benedictine too, but not quite as yummy.

Brigandine! Awesome! I think I may get one for the Ren Faire next summer. Out of context? Perhaps? Still badass? Hell yeah!
