    Peebles Highland Games

    Lots of pics from today's Highland Games at Peebles, I'll post some of them here:-

    Chieftain o' the Games, Norman Scott, in Isle of Skye tartan.

    xmarks rabble, left to right Acaig; Acaig's French flatmate; Cessna152towser.

    Stockbridge Pipe Band, grade IV contest, tartan is Stuart of Appin Muted Hunting.

    Tranent Pipe Band, grade IV contest, tartan is Tranent.

    Kirkintilloch Pipe Band, grade IV contest, tartan is Ancient Caledonian.

    A new and promising young athlete, not listed in the programme, who was introduced by the commentator as 18 year old Kyle. He went on to win one of the throwing events.

    56lb weight over the 13 foot bar - Garry Hagan

    Young Kyle clears the 13 foot bar with the 56lb weight - but the more experienced Mark MacDonald of Dumfries went on to win the event by being the only one to clear 14 feet.

    Scottish pride took a dent when our team of heavies was defeated in the Tug o'War by the GERMANS!!
