UT Kilts

Has anyone ordered one of the special order wool tartan kilts from Utkilts.com? I'm particularly interested in how the pleating looks, as they don't show pictures. I have done a search, but was unable to find a picture.

Ordered one some months ago. Fit was too large to even sit properly, and the cloth was thin and chintzy.

Their utility kilts may be good, but I wouldn't risk the wool.

Did you contact Brice? He has always been one to make things right..

That I did, and I did end up getting refunded the price of the kilt, but Brice's service cannot change the fact that his product is, to me, not recommendable.

I have one and will post a pleat picture. What interested me when I purchased it was the ability to custom order the length. Unfortunately the shortening was very poorly done. Now for the cost it is a very comfortable summer weight casual kilt, but don't confuse it with any version of a dress kilt. I have also dealt with Brice in the past and he is excellent to deal with.

Thank you for all the replies. It sounds like this kilt might not be what I'm looking for, even at that price. I would still like to see pictures of the pleats; who knows, maybe it will be worth it.

A friend bought one of these after seeing me in my kilt. Well, not from UT Kilts directly but from the Pakistani company that makes the kilts, and who UT Kilts buys his kilts from.
He bought it off Ebay for about half the cost for the exact same kilt.
It lasted 3 wearings. When he took it to the same dry cleaner I take my kilts to, it came back looking like a dishrag.
You get what you pay for. Not a traditional kilt by any standard. This is a kilt for mowing the lawn.

Thanks for posting your pic Liam. I was considering buying the 13 oz wool kilt from UT kilts. I mean, it's hard to argue that price. But, I can see it is not what I was looking for. So you prevented me from having buyers remorse, and thank you. I wanted a heavy kilt in Gordon modern tartan. I have not seen it in PV. It is in medium and heavy wool. But... damn... that price.
