    The Material comes from MM I had it specially woven it has a kilting selvage on it

    First, I would like to apologize for accidently sidetracking your thread.

    I too admire the Maple Leaf tartan so I have an idea of how much you are looking forward to a kilt in this tartan. Are you going to have it pleated to sett or stripe?

    Sorry if this has already occurred to you, or if I've picked you up wrong, but do you realise the Maple Leaf tartan is asymmetric? Ideally you'd want a single width piece about 7.3 metres for an 8 yard traditional kilt as you can't easily join a double width piece.
