I would love a PK in a chocolately brown to match my Birkenstocks.

Speaking of the shakes...
I ordered a genuine Marpat from Jeff on May 10th. He said six weeks. I said I could live with that. I might have been wrong. Hearing all this additional positive reinforcement has done nothing but increase the jones.
Arrgghhhhhhh!

I've seen the work that Jeff did on Magnus' kilt... and it works!
It's more than just a kiltmaking thing in this instance. For those that have not yet met Magnus, he's not a little guy. If you're making a kilt for him in wool, PV, or any of the blends... it's forgiving enough to let the drape and pleats correct themselves. This LINED kilt was staying up on the waist with no problem and stayed straight. That can be INCREDIBLY tough with the modern solid kilts! You don't have the pleat depth to forgive movement and shape.
We've seen how the UtiliKilts develop the "pucker", and even with ironing they keep that. The front pleats around the apron on my workman's look like freakin' ram's horns some times!!! AmeriKilts are not made with any real taper, so fitting them to "off sizes" can be VERY difficult. This PK fits!
I used to refer to my kilts by the tartan name, but I'm getting to where I'm referring to them by the "maker" name. Which one to wear tonight? The BearKilt? The UtiliKilt? The Hector Russell? The 21st Century? The StillWater? The Guinness Carbomb Kilt? And soon to include... ;)

Jewddha, your kilt did indeed go out on Wednesday.
Jimmy, yours is almost done (and looking smashing!) -- it will go out tomorrow.
Freedomlover, I'm afraid your news isn't as good--I still have 3 in front of you. I'm sewing as fast as I can! (I think I quoted you 6 to 8 weeks, for what it's worth).
Thank you all for the lovely compliments!

No problem, the final email acknowledgment was 6-8 weeks. For some strange reason I was hoping for the short side. ;)
If you quit wasting time on minor matters like sleeping and eating........

Excellent! If I'm lucky I should have it by the time exams are done, a bit of a reward :D

Jeff, I received your message only this morning. A little too late from the time that you actually sent it. There are absolutely no phone cells where I was.
There's no doubt that the kilt will be a piece of work! I've seen too many, yours included, to be anything but confident in the construction and fit.
I GUARANTEE that it will make an appearance at the Adams County Irish Festival near Gettysburg in July. It will also be at Hoolifest (www.hooligansusa.com for information). Chances are pretty good that it will also grace Brittingham's. Your product exposure will be pretty intense in the coming months.;)

Yeah a lot of people have been seeing the camo kilt lately. It's been to Finnigan's Wake twice now. And Jimmy's right... it stays put on my belly very well. Quite a feat.

We can all hope, eh?
My order for two (one his/ one hers!) went in the weekend of Jun 12, and I'm chomping at the bit.
