Potomac Celtic Festival
Anyone planning to attend? This year it is a downsized festival from past years due to loss of funding, but my wife and I are still attending. WE are leaving Amelia at 6 am and driving straight to the festival, and then staying overnight in Leesburg. I'll keep an eye out for other Xmarks members. AS for me, I'll be the old bald guy wearing the Macneil Casual kilt, and Xmarks tee shirt. Sunday morning, we'll head towards home with a detour of a few hours at The Virginia Renaissance Faire held at the Lake Anna Winery.(Can't afford the gas for two separate trips). Anyhow, I hope to meet some of you at the festival.

Since it's only one day on Saturday, I won't make it this year. I've already got tickets for a beer festival in Adamstown, Pennsylvania for that day. And I can't miss being "the man in the kilt" there.

My wife and I are planning on attending. I haven't decided what I am wearing yet but I will keep an eye out for you. Hopefully it will be a little cooler this year but I just saw they are calling for mid-90's tomorrow.

Jerry,
I honestly don't know what I'm doing. I'm a little put off by the shrinkage of the festival this year and the published schedule is well....less than attractive. No athletics this year? No pipe bands? Harumph.
I have your cell and I'll pm mine to you but I can't promise I'll be there.

Hello all -
I'm thinking the same; no bands and no caber? I may go only as an excuse to be among the kilted for a day; we'll see....

Just a quick review of the Potomac Celtic festival, yesterday. Of course, it was greatly down sized, because they had no funds. Overall, all things considered, it wasn't all that bad for an event that was thrown together in just the last few months. They had a couple of pipers there, and several different entertainers, all of whom got no money for playing other than tip buckets at each stage. As usual, Coyote Run brought the house down. They are a local group, based out of Williamsburg, Va, If any of you ever get a chance to see them, do not miss it, they are fast becoming one of my favorite groups. Most important, I had a chance to meet one of our members, canauler. Thanks for stopping by, Jim, it was nice meeting you. In conclusion, the festival definitely not as good as in the past, but there was a fairly decent crowd. This was important this year because they needed support in order to come back next year as big and as good as ever in the past

Thanks for the review - I had tried to get out there but unfortunately Home Depot and a substantial "honey-do" list interfered. Next time. . . .
