A Frugal Corner Story
I orderd two kilts from frugal corner back around june 19 i know this by the paypal conf. I never got a conf from frugal so i but a post up here. I got a response here. I called frugal and spoke to one of the marks and was told that they did not have the order but it was found in the paypal account. that was around june 30 thats when they confirmed my order. 1 heavy pride of scottland 1 light scottish national. The order was deliverd on aug 6. 1 heavy scottish national 1 light scottish national. I called on aug 7 spoke to one of the marks and i told him that i liked the heavy scottish national and that i would keep that and pay the for the heavy pride of scottland minus the cost of the light scottish national. He told me that he would send me an invoice for the cost and he would pay for the return shipping on the wrong kilt, and it would be sent out the next day. That would be aug 8. Iv tryed calling iv sent email no responce. So i guess that customer service is realy not a priority for them. Thats my frugal corner story.

I placed my order (1 16 oz. Clergy and 1 13 oz Buchanan) about 2.5 weeks ago. I have a copy of the receipt from Paypal. I have sent two e-mails, and received the following e-mail, which was also sent to the other Mark:

That is all I've heard. Now, I don't particularly care about waiting a while for my order, but to go two weeks without a confirmation or any news whatsoever? That seems a bit, how you say, worrying? irritating? bad customer service?
I'm defiantly not ordering from them until I hear reports that they've shaped up a bit. I like everything about the store except the most important part: customer relations.

You all had better luck than me. I got two emails; one confirming my order, and, after several phone calls, one cancelling my order. Reason being, after two months of no contact from them, despite numerous emails adn 2 phone calls, I got nothing. So, I cancelled.

FINALLY! My Frugal Corner order has arrived, after over eleven weeks of backward & forward emails.phone calls, unanswered messages/llack of communication and/or broken promises from them. The Pride of Scotland Kilt is fine; the belt-well, not the buckle I chose, but as it was complimentary, can't complain.
Everyone deserves a second shot, so I will order from them again, but nothing important or desperate, for a while, will wait & see........

It was part of their "Take2" package. One heavier Clergy Tartan-got that after three weeks(!) and one lighter 'Pride of Scotland' (Took 11 weeks) P of S is not quite as 'purple' as I expected, but well sewn, Apron is fringed, hem is selvedged, knife pleats, the three buckles & straps. It was crammed in a small box, so had to press it as it was all crumpled.
As I was the first to order on their renewed website (back on July 8th) they kindly offered a complimentary buckle, but didn't send the one I chose, plus I had to order a special belt as the buckle fits no average belt in any leather shop I approached. But it was free, so am not complaining. I'm just glad it's finally over! My patience was wearing pretty thin, mainly through poor communication, I couldn't find out what was happening.
But, like I said everyone deserves a second shot, and things can get tangled at times, so intend to order from them again-at least once, to see how things improve.

I ordered my custom black watch at about the sametime as you and I am still waiting. I am getting close to asking for a refund and getting a SWK standard.

Ozman,
Glad to hear that Frugal Corner came through in the end. I too am waiting for a pair of Kilts. Based on the last communication I should have mine in about 10 more days. Originally order 7/13.
Patience is a scarce commodity, but I do believe that the Marks are doing all they can to get Frugal Corner up and running.
Cheers,
