Neil Diamond hits #1 in the USA

Now at 67, Neil Diamond gets his very first number one album. I am looking forward to his show in Manchester, England on June 7th.
Neil has been doing a lot more tv/radio interviews than ever before. I'm just wondering if this could be a retirement tour as it is pretty extensive.
On Saturday 17 May, BBC Radio 2 is airing a private recorded show, and on ITV1 on May 31, there will be "An audience with Neil Diamond"
Ive not heard his new critically acclaimed album yet as I am awaiting it's arrival from amazon.com.
Are there any other Diamond fans out there?

I'm not quite a fan, but "Sweet Caroline" is an all-time favorite. I like some of his stuff.

Didn't Jazz Singer make #1? I'm a long time fan but I felt his best was behind him after he released Heartlight.

I'll agree with everything Grant said. I grew up listening to Mr. Diamond, and love his music... but dislike most of what he's done since Heartlight.

No, Neil himself said on a recent interview that his new release is his first number one. Jazz Singer may well be the only album people have of Neils. I forgot to mention that he is also gonna do Glastonbury. My trip next month will be my 4th time to see him. Also I received my cd today having been given an estimated delivery date up to July. Received it in just under 2 weeks.

This week's chart sees Neil at #1 here in the UK too. At number 9 is THE PLATTERS and number 10 FRANK SINATRA. Oldies but goodies eh. Check out Neils latest single called Pretty Amazing Grace.
