    UK sporran materials supplies

Ok, I admit it. I've made my first sporran and want to make more...yes, I'm becoming a regalia addict.

Does anyone know of any suppliers of cantles or fur to make a dress sporran?

I've done several searches but can't seem to find anything useful.

Can't help with fur in the UK, but Clan Art is probably going to be your "go to" for good quality cast pewter cantles.

    Martin,

I might be mistaken, but I believe that the Clan Art price list is without VAT.

Well spotted. That makes them quite attractive. I have a horsehair sporran with a beat-up cantle that could do with a bit of "rejuvenation".

    Re: UK sporran materials supplies

You should be aware that their screw-back placement (for mounting through the sporran body) is different from other's I've used. At least one of them was not symmetrical with the right and left side threaded rods being at different heights compared to the bottom edges of the cantle.

I'm sure this is a result of their small batch casting and finishing process and isn't a big deal as long as you're aware of it ahead of time.

You may end up needing to punch new holes, or at the least widen A hole.
