Scotweb 7 yard traditional kilt. Any experiences?

    Hi guys!

Does anyone have experience with the 7 yard kilt from Scotweb?

    Let me know.

I can't speak to the 7 yarder, but I have their 8 yard traditional, and just got a 5 yard casual, both in 16oz Locharron heavyweight. They are gorgeous, well made, and fit like a glove. I'm very happy with them so far!

Something to bear in mind about Scotweb, but also many other kiltmakers, is that they often aren't just made by a single individual, but have a number of people behind the scenes making the kilts. So it becomes a quality control question, more often than anything. But for Scotweb, I must say (from my own dealings with them and the reputation that precedes them) that their quality control is very, very good. My kilt from them fits exceedingly well. I would have no hesitation in recommending them or ordering another kilt from them.

I don't own a kilt from Scotweb, but Nick, the owner of Scotweb is a member here and is quick to answer PMs.

Pipersson, I am a bit confused with your reference to a 7 yard kilt from Scotweb. All I can see in their advertising are 8 yard or 5 yard casuals. I have 3 of their 8 yard kilts 15/16oz tartan, one of which is completely handsewn, the other 2 are hand/machine sewn.
All are of good solid construction and will provide many years of service.

@Downunder Kilt: They have a 7 yard kilt in their traditional kilt range declared as "Essential".
It seems to be a good offer though there is only a special choice of tartans from the HoE Nevis range.

I have one 8 yard kilt made by Locharron from Strome, and one 8 yarder made by Scotweb from Strome material.

I am not expert enough to tell the difference, well, my two are different tartans; but they both appear to be better made than I can fully appreciate.
