not from Kenya any more
When I opened my e-mail account this afternoon I had this message waiting to be read.
I have gotten this kind of message before but never from Scotland. Here is the message in full:
Good day,
I’m an Accounts Executive with one of Scotland's Leading Financial Service Providers.
By virtue of your same family name with our diseased customer, I am writing to seek your partnership and assistance in the transfer of an unclaimed deposit of our diseased customer.
Be most assured, that I have established all legal modalities for a secured way for a perfect transaction.
Please Kindly get back to me soonest, signifying your interest via a return email and I will be providing you with information on the amount, procedure and legality of this claim.
Kind Regards,
Terry Jenkins

A "red flag" jumps out for me with the statement "diseased customer". I could see a deceased relative being cause for claim but can't figure out what they want from you if someone else has a malady. Get a contract before giving up any vital organs or financial records.

That is almost guaranteed to be bad news. Do NOT give them any information. Many e-mail scams of this nature. Some redirect you to places that capture personal information or other sensitive information. Please, please, please, Phil, be very careful. Some are pretty sophistocated and target you based upon your web traffic and are in-turn tailored to you in order to be enticing. There are very real and dangerous people out there who are virtuosos with a computer.

I suggest you send Terry all your money. What could go wrong?
I'm jealous, never having received such a generous offer. I probably will now, though
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.
