Whisky tasting in San Francisco
Monkey@Arms and I survived the whisky tasting in San Francisco last Wednesday evening. Here's the previous thread with a list of what we were sampling:

Waiting for our cab on a street corner in downtown San Francisco on a weeknight got us several looks and a few complements.
There were about 60 attendees but only three of us in the audience, along with the presenters, were kilted.
Here's one of our hosts anticipating the first pouring.

Monkey@Arms in his Stillwater Black Watch, the Glenmorangie representative, and me in the new Freedom tartan. Blacksmith, your jacket fits me well.

Here we're learning about the intricacies of whisky. Sorry the picture is dark - it was taken after the "explosive" computer slide show - the projector bulb blew up!

Still standing at the end of the evening.

It looks like you gents had a great time! You both look good (though M@A you need to put your sporran belt under your sweater, which is a nice one by the way). So what were your favorites?
Cheers

Hey Panache,
Thanks for the sporran tip, it was my first time wearing one actually, and I am going to wear it again at Thanksgiving. Somewhat surprisingly, my favorite Glenmorangie is probably the basic 10 year old. But perhaps that's not so odd as its the best selling single malt in Scotland. All the Ardbegs were wonderfully peaty.
WalkerK,
Thanks for posting the pics. It was a great time, and I think we may have convinced our table companion to get out in his kilts more often.
Best regards,
Jake
