San Francisco Whisky Tasting Nov. 15th
Just learned of this upcoming event:
A Whisky Tasting by Glenmorangie and Ardbeg
The tasting will take place at the Presidio Golf Club on November 15 2006 from 6:30 until approximately 9:30. Gourmet appetizers will be served during the presentation. In all 9 whiskies will be poured and another more special Glenmorangie will be shared to send you home happy! Special pricing will be offered on the night should you wish to purchase any of the whiskies tasted.
The nine whiskies listed are: Glenmorangie 10, 15 and 18 Year Old, Glenmorangie Madiera, Sherry, Port and Burgundy Wood Finishes, Ardbeg 10 Year Old and Ardbeg Uigeadail.
The event is being put on by the Whisky Shop, which is co-located with the city's biggest kilt store off Union Square. You can buy tickets ($40) at the store or on line.
I think this sounds like a great event, and it would be made even more memorable (to the extent one remembers anything after tasting 9+ single malts ) if we could get a kilted contingent going. Anyone interested?
Best regards,
Jake

On, my! That's a Wednesday evening. Nine in three hours? Well, I've plenty of "sick days" saved up.
This is the shop in the back of the Hector Russell store in San Francisco, so I'll anticipate that at least some of the presenters will be in full Highland Dress.
Sounds like fun. (You'll be needing a ride back to BART, right? )

I've had the 10, 15, 18, Madiera, Sherry, Port and Burgundy and like them all (the Port being my favorite). I'll have to give the Ardbeg a try soon.
Was at a whisky tasting earlier this month with 8 and, yes, you can still tell the differences and the various tastes etc with the last one. They just don't give you enough

Jake,
Love the idea, but it's midweek and I don't think it would work out for me and the F-H.C.A.G. They also might card Sinbad
We still both like the idea of an S.F. Event.

Just a reminder that this event is coming up next week. WalkerK and I will be there (kilted, of course), in case anyone else is in the neighborhood.
Best regards,
Jake
