I have just taken delivery of a super new DVD which, I believe, is unlikely to be available in the shops but may be of interest to my kilted brethren. It is "The Braemar Gathering" and is available for £14.99 direct from www.braemargathering.org or by phone from 01339 755377. This is a really worthwhile production, with a special introduction by HRH The Duke of Rothesay (Prince Charles):

"Braemar is the setting for the famous Braemar Gathering, held every year on the first Saturday in September. This new DVD of the spectacular event captures the crowds, the atmosphere, the athletes, the pipe bands and multitudes of kilts.

Running for 45 minutes, The Braemar Gathering has a specially recorded foreword by HRH The Prince of Wales and includes footage of the preparations behind the scenes, interviews with officials and competitors and many filmed clips from historical gatherings held during the reign of HM The Queen, who always attends with her family during her Balmoral holiday each summer."

This DVD really makes you feel you have been to the Gathering, even if you have not! I thoroughly recommend it.
