I was doing the dishes last night after dinner and the girls were on the couch watching That's So Raven on the Disney channel. The story line was the kids on Raven were meeting with some band members and were going to show their own music and wanted to show the same style as the band they were going to meet. They were originally told the band they would be meeting was a country and western band, so they dressed in checked shirts, jeans, and cowboy hats. Well, they actually met with a hip-hop band, so they quickly changed to showcase hip-hop. Toward the end they began experimenting with different styles they could represent and all of a sudden I hear pipes! Quickly ran into the living room and sure enough, they were dressed in kilts on stage with a young piper part of the group. I was amazed. For those that know the show, it is definitely an indication that kilts are becoming more mainstream.
