    Kilted weatherman

Robin McElwee was wearing a kilt to do the 23:10 weather forcast tonight - not that we were allowed to see much of it, he was visible from the silver cantle of his sporan upwards, but he looked very smart with his tartan tie.

    He is on BBC one.

    Wink

It was indeed a pleasure to see! A shame that they didn't pan out at the end to show him in all his glory. May we have a similar display on Burns Night, I wonder?

I caught Rob on BBC iPlayer - he looked very smart....

Perhaps he'll introduce it into his regular wardrobe for 2k9...

Wow! That's really formal for doing the weather. He went all out! Very cool.

What a shame he could not do it properly, a bow tie ,not a tartan "four in hand", would have been much better with his PC. Oh well!

    well spotted Anne!
I missed it as I was out celebrating in my own kilt!
Pity they didn't show him full on as you say.

I think he looks pretty sharp even if he wore a tie instead of a bowtie. Nice to see it on the tele. Too bad it wasn't here in the States.

OK.Great to see on mainstream media. But who dressed him up???? Apparently the BBC is still using the same wardrobe person/clown that it used in the later episodes of Monarch of The Glen. You know the episode where Paul and Donald are kilted and Donald has on the prince charlie with a BELT. Robin has on non matching tartan tie??? and (gasp) a belt with PC. Maybe their is a good reason that the cameraman didn't pan down
