What song stirs your highland blood?
I've got Highland Cathedral playing while here at the office. I like this arrangement so much I just put it on loop and let it run. Accompany this with the photo's provided by the our embers across the pond and I feel the fire rising to wander the highlands, pick a fight, and enjoy a tall brew.
Other than Amazing Grace, what song on the pipes rouses your spirit to "look to the highlands"?

I don't know if this will qaulify but at my father in laws funeral the piper played a song that my wife and I both recognized right away, It was There Is A Ship and now when ever I hear it I can't help but think of it being played on the pipes The Marine Corp Hymn is another on of my favorites.

I'm pretty partial to Skye Boat song, but the Corries version of Flower of Scotland is also a favourite.
It's hard to pick any pipe songs that don't rouse the spirit.

A little out of genre, but the song "March of the Cambreadth" by Heather Alexander gets me going.

Scotland the Brave is number one, Amazing Grace is a close second.

Depending on the day, I would agree. Amazing Grace when started by one piper in the dark with a spotlight on him and then the rest of the massed bands joining in follow by the USMC 29 Palms band...just can't beat that.

There are so many. "Green Hills of Tyrol," perhaps. And "Bonnie Dundee," "Westering Home," "Bluebells of Scotland," "The Bonnie Lass of Fyvie." I have a CD on which the Simon Frasier University Pipe Band plays Pachelbel's "Canon" that almost works.
