I am sure no harm was meant, but the title certainly does not please me.

i don't see what issue folks had with the title in this neck of the woods the term "auld " is always meant in fond terms my great grandfather is known to me as "auld jock" even though his name was john so calling the queen auld liz isn't meant in a bad way at all
and glen you should know that with your mother coming from this neck of the woods id imagine she`d referd to the older generation as auld in some way or another
anyways the point being if anyone is offended then sorry but its the first royal to visit in a long time so i figured it was worth sharing the info

I thought it was great that you posted it, thank you for that. I did not change the title the first time I saw it and only did because of the comments. As I said I hope you understand the reasons for it.

I am sure no harm was meant either. It's just that another thread had problems and not all might see affection rather than disrespect.
Whereas we might well find the phrase affectionately suitable for relatives or for the Master of Greyfriars Bobby, we are talking about the British Head of State and that's why I wondered if the original title might be problematic.

Aye Trefor
That is why I thought it was better just to change it to her proper name, thought this would be the best under the circumstances.

They kinda gave it short shrift didn't they?
Seems they down played that for the powerplant story, probably best!
