    Changing into your kilt

Where's the most awkward or bizarre place you've ever changed into your kilt while out?

I often change in the car at the Berwick border and have been known to kilt up in a loo or two in my time. How about you?

I once got changed into white tie and tails in a layby off the A12, but have never changed into a kilt 'on route'. If I had to, I would require one of two things. Either a good mirror or a second person to give a 'once over' before I emerged in public.

I normally kilt up before leaving home, so no changing is necessary.

The only other place is on the beach after a swim.

On a very hot afternoon, I wore a tee shirt and small swim suit to a lunch date and changed in my kit in between the doors of my truck in an alley before picking up Iain for lunch. Lucky, no traffic came by!

I can't say that I found it either awkward or bizarre, but just the other day, I popped on my UK out in the open, in front of God and everybody, on the rocky bank of the Delaware river after having just completed a short tubing trip. The kilt went on and the swimming trunks came off in front of plenty of witnesses.

Come to think if it, that's how I got into the trunks in the first place. Sooo convenient!

Why on earth do you wait till you get to the border before changing? I have enough trouble getting in and out of a car kilted, never mind changing in one.

The parking lot of King's Island amusement park. It's easy: put on the kilt, pull off swimsuit. Make sure you get order right.

Once I switched Kilts in the woods. Just grateful that I didn't meet poison ivy.

The Grand Canyon - South Rim. Wanting to get pics of different tartans at the canyon while I had the camera rig set up...sort of in the car to the point of avoiding arrest then out of the car to get it adjusted well.

    Talking

I've changed in the locker room at work a few times, no big deal there. As far as 'unusual' places, I have ridden a motorcycle to a celtic event wearing jeans, parked, strapped the kilt on and dropped the jeans in the parking lot.

I have not been able to change clothes in my car since I got rid of my old Dodge police car, to change any article of clothing in the Miata I'd have to put the top down and stand up!
