The Whisky Shop in San Francisco is holding another tasting downtown on September 23rd at 6:30 pm. There was a good selection of food at the last event. Odds are good we'll end the evening at one of these places. Come join Monkey@Arms and me in our ongoing quest for a favorite single malt. A previous Signatory tasting had a good selection: http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/s...x.html?t=27098 Here's some pictures from the event at the E&OTrading Company last May: http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/n....html?p=731818 And a link to The Whisky Shop's web page for tickets: http://whiskeyshopusa.com/store/detail.aspx?ID=1365
I will try to rearrange my schedule so I can attend.
If you are going to be in SF tasting scotch whisky you have to stop by the Ritz Carlton Hotel up on the hill, as they are reported to possess the worlds largest collection of single malt scotch. The owner/manager travels to Scotland each year and buys kegs of various distilleries, sizes and vintages, brings them back and bottles them and has a sizable collection out on display in the bar at any given time. Phenomenal variety, and stuff you will NOT find in stores. Take your credit card as it is not cheap, but it is enjoyable. If you get lucky you will have one of the extremely knowledgeable bartenders who can navigate you through the variety of flavours to find something to suit your specific desires. Enjoy. jeff :ootd:
Actually, WalkerK has the San Francisco areas largest selection of single malts. I know, because I've had to pick them up for him at the liquor store after he's made his whisky tasting night purchases. Hmmmmm, whisky. Looking forward to the 23rd. Best regards, Jake
