    Lord Mayor's Show, London

I am watching on television the Lord Mayor's Show in London. No kilts yet but in the Cadet Forces Massed Bands is an Air Training Corps (air force cadets) contingent of pipers. Unfortunately I cannot take a pic.

However, I logged on here to compliment the Queens Colour Squadron, Royal Air Force for their magnificent marching. Absolutely in step the whole way, and their dressing was impeccable. I hope this balances the comments I made earlier in the year when I denigrated the RAF marching at the Forces Day Parade in Edinburgh. (I hope Chas reads this !).

    Lord Mayor's Show in London

At last, some kilts ! The Pipes and Drums of the London Regiment have now marched past the Lord Mayor. They are wearing Inverness capes so the tartan is difficult to make out, but it looks like Hodden Grey (brown).

    Hi Alan,

Got to the TV just in time to miss it. Saturday is weekly shopping day (my wife is trying to reflate the economy all by herself). Then comes the putting away ritual, which I must admit is important. We have such a badly designed house in as much that there is adequate storage space, just not in the room where you need it. Then a bite to eat and check the TV Times - Ah, too late.

Glad to hear that the Queen's Colour Squadron acquitted themselves well. Your comments in Edinburgh - I can't remember them (old age and senile decay I expect).

I must see if I can catch the parade through iplayer (not done it before).

    Regards

    Chas
