Another newbie.
Hello everybody, I thought I would introduce myself having been the proud owner of a kilt for about three weeks now. To try and kill this strange urge I have had of late to wear a kilt I bought a Blaklader, however rather than putting a stop to these feelings it has only encouraged them. No surprise there I here you say.
I have been wearing the kilt as much as I can, walking the dog, working round the house etc. and the neighbours in the main seem to accept this change in my attire. I'm not so sure if they will be as accepting tomorrow however as, after returning from walking the dog this afternoon I discovered I was locked out! No problem though, kitchen window was open. I'm a fairly lithe 52 yer old and managed to scale the wall to the window ledge and get my shoulders through reasonably easily. However I then knocked the blind down and became entagled, leaving me in a horizontal position, derriere facing the road with a bemused labrador looking up at me. A final push saw me slide headfirst onto the kitchen floor through the clean dishes on the draining board. I forgot to mention that our kitchen window faces the local parish church and it being a Sunday a fair number of parishioners were pulling up outside the house and witnessing the spectacle. So I now sit here in some embarrasment with my first question for you all. Dare I open the door to let the dog in?

Hilarious story. I have always thought something like this would happen to me when I was in a kilt -locked out of the house, get a flat tire, auto accident etc. Mom always said to wear clean underwear for situations like this, but what about no underwear??
Welcome to the rabble!

Welcome to the site that most understands your new addiction. Even if we are all enjoying your story and thankful it wasn't us. You must of course let the poor dog in, but nothing says you can't do so while standing behind the door as you open it. The other option is to proudly trot into the yard (making sure the door is unlocked this time) and take a bow that goes along with the fine show you just gave the church goers.

Thanks for the welcome and you will be glad to know that the dog is now lying down in the house having finished her tea.

A warm Scottish welcome from middle England.
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!
