Newbie in NJ
Greetings! I stumbled upon this site after ordering a kilt pin from Robin (that I am anxiously awaiting!) I only wish I had found this site before I had ordered my kilt, sgian dubh, sporran etc. The stuff I got is alright, but very "mass produced". The good news is I get to start over again with a whole new saffron box pleated kilt that I'm having Matthew Newsome make for me.
I've been learning the bagpipes for just about a year now, and looking for other pipers and drummers in the area that are interested in starting up a band in a year or so (not quite good enough on the pipes yet, but I have an excellent instructor).
Regards - Tom

Welcome to the rabble Tom! Be very careful around this place. It is quite addictive.
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

I've already found how addictive it is! I've spent most of my day reading posts and neglecting work.

Another big welcome from south of the border (border= Mason-Dixon Line: it's a joke! Don't anyone take offense!)
You'll find this to be a very good place for information, chatter, foolishness, and general fun. You may even make real friends.
Congrats on your piping and choice of dress. Can't go wrong with one of Matt's kilts.

Did you know that the Mason-Dixon line is NOT the border between North & South, but only between Pennsylvania and Maryland? And that has nothing to do with the Civil War?
