That is a very nice tartan. I had ancestors on both sides in the Civil War and would not mind wearing that.
Too bad it's too short for me! The waist is good, and I love that tartan. My grandfather's grandfather served in the 7th West Virginia Cavalry so the kilt and jacket are very much up my alley. (They weren't in any famous battles, they spent most of the war in West Virginia patrolling for Rebel sympathizers and guarding supply routes and such.)

How cool. It is a beautiful tartan, and well woven. One great great grandfather was with the 156th Illinois in the Tennessee campaign. When the war was over his wife almost shot him as a marauder when he got home - he was so emancipated. Only the family dog rejoicing to see him kept her from firing. Another great great grandfather was a "Squirrel Hunter" against John Hunt Morgan's Ohio raid then joined the 136th Ohio and defended Washington D.C. against Early's attack.
Bump....gotta be some proud descendants of Union boys out there.
