Do I look gay to you!?
Ok. Today one gay guy tried to hit me. He said I look good in kilt and so on. I tried to explain I am not interested but he didn't seem to believe me. Should I take it as compliment or what? Damn it...

Take it as a compliment, smile and enjoy life while kilted.

It certainly doesn't sound as though it was intended to be derogatory. A compliment perhaps... in a manner of speaking.

I didn't seen to get him understand so I just said "Ok I'm going now and walked away."

Definetly a compliment, walking away just told him you have boundaries. FWIW I get compliments from both male and female, and love them both, but have my favorites, and those are few very few.

Look at it like you look so good in a kilt, even the men want you.;) I've been hit on by both sexes. I take it as a complement.

Aye, testiment to the power of the kilt.
When Arnold Swartzenegger was in his top form he took it as a compliment when men hit on him.
And, there's Woody Allen's thought that its double the chance of getting a date.
In your case sounds like the guy was too focused on his own needs to have any empathy for yours. Not a good way to start a relationship even if you had any interest.
And, it never hurts to have a few stock weirdo lines ready for situations where you need to breakaway clean...."The Russian Ambassador is here, I have to go now." "I'll be back in a few minutes, the pizza you ordered is ready." "I'm sorry, I'm late and have to rewind my DVD's before the next class." Leaves them politely, but puzzled...;-)

Ackwell,
A REAL compliment would have been if a STRAIGHT guy hit on you
Now THAT would be KILT POWER!

Thank you Dee for what you said.
One response that I always get, a little bit of a take off of Ackwell's original post, "You look to Straight to be Gay".
I am just me.

Well, my main goal was to provoke some debate. I think it's a success so far
