It was a dark and stormy night
OK maybe it wasn't dark yet and the storm was a few drops of rain, but hey it makes for a great title.
A friend (from the coffee shop) had an art opening earlier this evening, and she always invites me (you know how many artists have a Kilted gentleman at their openings?). Tonight was no exception wearing the Hunting Stewart from Rocky and Kelly, dapper was what they called me.
Came across several interesting and yet wonderful conversations, first off a couple came over and said Hunting Stewart what a lovely tartan. Of course I agreed with them and found out that he wears a Kilt on occassion and what tartan does he feel most comfortable with? Any of the Stewart tartans.
Moved on and another couple came to chat with me, said that he wished that he would have worn his Kilt. Of course I concurred.
A lady came to chat with me from of all places Glasgow, she was in town for a few days and was with a friend of hers who is also a friend of Rose the Artist. Was so impressed that I wear a Kilt and especially when Rose told her it was a daily experience for me she was even more excited.
Lastly a lad in his 20s came and tried to guess the tartan, unfortunately he was not as keen as the first gentleman on his tartan knowledge. Yet what I found most exciting about him was that he was from Dumfries (yes he knows of P1M) and was pretty excited that I was an everday Kilt wearer. Then he told me that many of the guys his age who wear Kilts often wear them with T-shirts and with Doc Marten type boots. Yes he does have Kilts and wears them often, but not at the time I met him.
Kilts - a great conversation starter.

Sounds like a great night Glen. Kilts, some art and culture, and great conversation. What more could you desire?

Great story Glen. That's one of the benefits of wearing a kilt - interesting conversations with people that otherwise would not even say hello. It really caught my eye that the young man from Dumfries said that may of his peers wear t-shirts and Doc Martin boots with their kilts. I think when you go casual your more inclined to wear a kilt more frequently. It's great to have a garment that looks good dressed up or down.

Great story. Kilts are indeed a great conversation starter.

Great story. It still amazes how many people just walk up & start a conversation because your kilted.

Good story Glen. The cutting edge of fashion for sure.
Hang on PB. The Hopis are dancing. You'll have that rain soon. Coming off the mountain from Flagstaff this afternoon it was as heavy as I've ever seen it rain inover 30 years of Arizona monsoons.

Graham was his name, didn't catch the family name. He actually lives not too far from Dumfries, I forgot the name, but his maternal Grandmother lives there.
