Thanksgiving Parade

Keep your eyes open for the U.S. Air Force Reserve Pipe Band. They'll be marching in the Thanksgiving Parade in New York wearing (of course) the Air Force tartan and full no.1 piping uniforms! I'm eager to hear what tunes they'll perform.

When I saw the post, I thought that it might be that your pipe band was going to be down here in Chicago for the Thanksgiving Day Parade (we have one too...we even have a Macy's now...we used to have William H. Macy, but that's another story). I was going to say, I'd meet you at the end of the parade route with a hip flask of whiskey and we could drink a quick toast to all the Xsmarksers.

I will look for the USAF Pipe Band, then.

Was it the full pipe band or just the Honor guard. I came awfrom the computer just in time to see the first few members but then NBC flashed to another camera shot showing the marching band and the choir. Whats up?

Yeah, the pipe band was really short-changed. They were shown for a total of 2.3 seconds, I swear. They weren't even playing! I know that the pipe band was there, but the cameras were more interested in the regular, old, boring, non-kilted bands.

Well not to defend the Tv people...but the float that the Air Force guys where standing on...(Not the pipe band)...had to get into position for the camera....so they could do the song...."America the beautiful".....

Timing was just not right....so the pipe band was march out to make room for the float.

Just one of those things...

What I did see of the pipers...they looked cold and wet.
