Rolling a kilt for storage or travel
OK Folks,
I have a quick question-how do you roll a kilt for storage or travel?
Can you do it with a box-pleat? If so, how is this accomplished?
thanks all!

Can't speak to the box pleats, but for my knife pleat I lay the kilt apron down, waist to the left so the pleat edges face away. Then just start rolling, trying to keep the pleats as straight as possible. I have a kilt roll that has a plastic pad to roll the kilt into and elastic straps. A 2'x3' piec. of cloth would suffice as well, held closed by rubber bands.

Thanks Turpin and Jake!
That does help alot. Some pretty neat tricks.
I must admit, I'm not to sure about box-pleats working using these methods.

I found a kilt roll a worthwhile investment and you can also get other items in the carrier as well - flashes, sgean dubh etc.

I suggest trying it overnight and then seeing the results. You're certainly not going to do any damage to the kilt. worst that can happen is a few wrinkles that will steam out during a long, hot shower. I really con't see why rolling shouldn't work with a box pleat, but the master boxer, Mr. Matt, may have some thoughts. you might send him a PM and ask him to look at the thread.
