Denver Kilt Night Pics
Seven of us braved the single digit temps and showed up at the Celtic Tavern in LoDo last night.
Around the table you can see Erisianmonkey (Charles) with his wife Helen, Corbin hiding down at the end of the table, GMan (Glen), mudd (John), and my wife Joyce. The rest of Corbin's was unable to make it (prior commitments) and the same for John.
Here we are doing our best Hamish in front of the Robert Burns Room.
Charles, Glen, John, Greg (me) and Corbin. We had a great dinner and loads of good discussions. Only thing that would have made it better would have been more of the Front Range Kilties there.

In case you missed the Gville Kilt Night photos, everybody is taller than me.
How's the fish and chips in that place?

Wonderful! They use a beer batter that is incredibly light in texture. The flavor of the batter is nutty, but doesn't overpower the fish. They serve it with a tartar sauce that I believe is fresh made (certainly tasted that way), and bring a bottle of malt vinegar to the table.
The Scotch eggs (something I've wanted to try for a long time) were good, though like in that thread about them a while back, I think they could have been improved by using a spicy sausage.
The wife had the Welsh rarebit, which was good. (we always share tastes when trying a new restaurant) For her main course, she had the lamb. Tender and perfectly cooked were the words I'd use to describe it. The lamb was served with a great port reduction.

I seem to have a talent for closing my eyes in pictures, don't I?

That's the worst Hamish I've ever done. Actually, that's the only Hamish I've ever done. I should have practiced in front of the mirror.

I'd say that makes it the best Hamish you've done
