What does a woman wear with a kllted skirt?

(As usual, DB typing, JW talking)

I am going to ask Steve at Freedom Kilts to make me a kilted skirt.

I would like to know what to wear with it. I really don't know what Scots women are susposed to wear. Nobody ever showed me my roots. Can you please help me?

I would like to know so that my husband and I will look good together. I'd like to know more about casual and dressy situations, what to wear, and how to make it look good. What does a Scots woman look like?

I don't want to dress like a man, I want to dress like a lady that compliments her man. I am not interested in cross dressing. I am NOT that type of lady.

Go to Google and do an image search for "Kilted Skirt", you'll see a few variations from formal to casual looks.

What tartan? Mind you a nice billowy white cotton blouse is a must. this would certainly compliment a nattily dressed Dread-pirate.

Also a nice sash. See Thompson's book. It's a must for both gentlemen and ladies.

Or there's always this after a few too many Woodchucks.

She wants a solid blue kilted skirt from Freedom Kilts. Not a tartan. To be honest, I have been scratching my beard a bit wondering what one would wear with something like this.

Probably a teeshirt and her crocs.

Like a kilt, I'm sure Jadewink can dress it up or down, tee shirt would be fine. A denim or silk blouse for those dressier occasions. Jadewink if you would like a tartan dress MacHummel at CCK also has something that looks good. So Dread has to forgo a kilt so you can add to your closet. You deserve it, afterall he just got his RKilts hemp and has a Freedom Kilt on the way (eventually). Then again Dreadful Creations® should have a line of hemp pirate shirts coming out soon, the line forms behind me...

A dear friend of mine wears a jabot-like blouse with a black velvet jacket with the clan crest on the breast pocket, and matching tam in her tartan; very sharp looking.

Too bad it's Buchanan; when she walks up, we all put on our sunglasses.

My wife has such a blouse and jacket—it is very eloquent. I'm always delighted to be seen with her dressed that way.
