    New Kilt and First Outing

So, I had a few boxes waiting for me when I got home from work this afternoon. The first one was from The frugal Corner with my new sporran in it. The second was from Stillwater. This one had a brand new standard in MacLeod Hunting, a kilt belt, kilt hose, kilt pin, and child's thifty kilt in the same tartan.

Much like a kid at Christmas, I dug in and started to explore my new treasures. The look on my son's face was wonderful when I told him I had a surprise for him and pulled out his kilt.

Now, I was going to wait until tomorrow to wear my new kilt, but the 6 year old exuberance got the better of me. So before we set out for the grocery store this afternoon, we donned out new clothes (Pictures to follow this weekend, I promise.) and set off.

Let me just say that if a cute kid is a chick magnet, and a kilt is a chick magnet, then a cute kid in a kilt is just scary. We had girls pulling over to talk to us as we were walking down the sidewalk. The lady at the bakery gave him a cookie on the house. I am still in awe.

So, with being a kilt owner for less than an day, I have already expierienced the full gammut of reactions from double takes, to pointing, to free cookies.

Now I just need to figure out what to get next. I finding myself becoming partial to the American District tartans. Mybe the bi-centennial? Hmmmmm....

Congratulations on a successful first day kilted. And it's hard to bear free cookies.

But about the cute kid in the kilt attracting chicks...Maybe I can hire some kids and start renting them out to single guys...

Free cookies? I'll act like a kid for good cookies. Sounds like you and your son had a grand time. Looking forward to the pics.

    That "rush" can become addictive.

Of course you need MORE kilts. Different women seem to respond to different color tartans.

Gotta get some more of them things for sure!
