    Kilted in Ireland

Last weekend I travelled with my male voice choir to Ireland. We stayed in Carlow where we gave a performance besides doing some travelling to other towns and a few pints of Guinness...

Here are the pics where I was on the other side of the camera.

My friend Mark took this one at Kilkenny Castle. I am wearing my County Antrim tartan.

Also this one of me trying to look Lord and Master of all I survey.

    And this one too!

And one Mark took of the choir prior to the concert. Fortunately I am in the back row so the trousers are not too visible! This is a rare shot of me wearing bifurcated garments!

A self shot of me in a window in Carlow.

My friend Lawrence took this one of me in Rosslare as we prepared to take the ferry back to Wales. We didn't get home until 5 am the following day.

Apart from the concert I was kilted throughout. The choir are used to it but I am pleased to say the Irish reactions to the kilt were very good. I will be posting other pictures of the trip in due course.

Great pictures Trefor. I trust the choir had a successful trip, am looking forward to the rest of your shots. By the way I love your Balmoral Hose, very smart indeed.

Thanks for the photos and for sparing us the bifurcated garment shot. I suppose you have to make some sacrifices in the name of art! Hope the concert went well.

I'm pleased to report that the trip was successful - they want us to go back next year!

One has to wear choir uniform for concerts but it was worth the sacrifice and of course I changed back in the kilt for the post concert festivities!

It's my favourite hose McMurdo and I intend to get some more pairs when I am next in Hawick!

Super pics, Trefor, and looks like you got some good weather too.
Looking forward to seeing the rest of your pics from your Irish trip.
Let me know when you are coming back to Hawick for more of these hose.

    Great flix Trefor -

My wife, who was looking over my shoulder, says that you shouldn't wear black shoes with that ensemble. Usual female response.

Me I really like the colors of hose and kilt and shirt. Who looks at shoes?

I would be interested to know what your wife thinks I should have worn instead James!

Well, the topic came up. She says - Brown belt - Brown shoes! Black belt - Black shoes!

Of course, maybe the shoes are dark brown. I tend to agree, but for slightly different reasons from hers.

My dress shoes are black, by dress sporrans are accented with black leather, and my best belt is black. So that meets her requirements.

My causual stuff is basically just that - casual. I have no problems wearing my black SWK nylon sporran with a brown belt and brown shoes. But I don't know what she thinks when I am dressed causually, cause I don't ask!

I still think you strike a really good appearance, with the hose and assessories!

I think I am going to see about getting a pair or two of those hose! They really set off the colors in your kilt well!
