Trip to Ireland #2
Here is a selection of pictures taken by me on my choir trip to Ireland.
View of Kilkenny (Cill Chainnigh is Irish for "Church of Canice") and the tower of St Mary's Cathedral.
Kilkenny street scene.
I liked this sign!
Modern statue of the Saint after whom the city is named.
Rothe House, Kilkenny, a Tudor merchant's house later used as a centre of the Gaelic League.
An island of flowers on the River Nore, Kilkenny's river.
I wonder if the creators of South Park got their inspiration from the city?
More to come!

Those are really beautiful pictures. I never spent much time in the Cill Chainnigh area, but looking at these pictures makes me think I should have!
"Canice" is the Anglicisation most typically seen of "Cainneach." (See sign outside Rothe House.) "Kenneth" is one probably more familiar to modern readers, though.

You'd think that after all these years, they would have learned how to spell his name. (Kidding!)
The pictures are great! Sounds like you're having a great time.
