Loch Lomond Highland Games October 6th, 2006

For we members of the Nor Cal Rabble yesterday marked the last of the Highland Games of the season. It was a pleasant day in Ben Lomond from the frosty morning, warm afternoon, to chilly evening.

Here are some pictures from the Day:

I helped out Alan H. and our friend Casey (who still hasn't joined XMTS despite enormous peer pressure) set up the MacNaughton tent. Here Casey our host at the Clan MacNaughton Tent.

The day's results for our highland Atheletes

What would a Highland Game be without the mighty... WICKED TINKERS!

Sinbad and Xena love dancing to this wonderful band, who as usual played several great sets during the day.

    Marching with the Tinkers:

By the way, the Wicked Tinkers' new album was not finished and available. Aaron Shaw says they are 90% done (hmmmm.... it was 67% done at the Pleasanton Games. So at least they are making progress)

We weren't able to get everyone together for the complete Nor Cal Rabble picture but here is the majority of the crew.

    As we like to appear:

As we really look when we think that no one is watching:

Like all of the Nor Cal Rabbles' outings it was a great day. We enjoyed some lovely food and drink (young Sinbad decided that fish 'n chips was tasy food indeed). We met newcomer X Marker Clydebank, and listened to the music of Peter Daldry. They both came by the MacNaughton tent for a a refreshing beverage towards the end of the day. From them learned of some evenings of Celtic music here in San Jose at the Britannia Arms.

The Nor Cal Rabble were privileged to be invited to an after hours Ceilidh by that great Irishman and X Marker Michael Steinrok. We spent the last hours in Ben Lomond enjoying a lovely dinner and looking at the stars of the early evening. We left to the music of a lone piper and drove home exhausted but happy. Another Highland Games season had come to an end. We were left wanting more, but perhaps that isn't such a bad thing.

    Cheers

    Jamie

Thanks Jaime! You're one of the few people I've seen that can make those red socks look good!

In this next picture, of course Panache is unperturbed-note my fist rapidly approaching Alan's face!
