    General comments on traveling kilted.

    First off - It's great!

For this trip, I chose a USA Kilt "off-the-rack" casual in PV to travel in. I am wearing the Scottish National that Rocky rushed to me at the last minute. Perfect choice! the sewn down pleats and weight make it superb travel wear. No problem with sweeping the pleats even when forced to get up several times to let people pass. It also got me a free scotch from a stewardess! Upon rising, the pleats look wrinkle free!

Going through the metal detector was OK - But one must remember to take everything offensive out of the sporran, even that cute little executive swedish army knife (you know the little one with scissors, tweezers and tooth pick - which is now confiscated in the bowells of the San Diego Airport!) Seems is was in the front bottom compoartment of my nightstalker nylon sporran, and I missed it, but not the Xray!

Be prepared to meet new people at every turn wanting to talk kilt

Great thing to get free drinks!

It was hovering in the 90's when we arrived in Fort Lauderdale and HUMID! Rocky's "off-the-rack" casual was a great choice here too, as it handled the heat well. I am very comfortable!

Packing the kilts was a breeze! I rolled them and put them to bed in the suitcase in little nylon sausages, cut from my wife's old pantyhose. Works perfectly! One thing, remember to roll towards the open end of the apron, and the pleats just fall in line that way.

I'll add more travel observations as I make them. We get on the boat tomorrow.

First day at sea on this BIG Boat - I'm a Marine - we don't give a hoot what you call it, as long as it floats!

I'm the only one kilted on the Celebrity cruise ship Infinity, and it seems like everyone who even slightly has any Scottish connection has felt the need to come up and talk. A lot of people think that they are experts..... assistand tartan police

The food last night was superb! Grand Cayman tomorrow!

    Grand Cayman

James, depending on your preference, if you're not into the tourist shops, etc, see if you can get up to Rum Point, it's on the north side of the island, maybe a thirty minute ride, but one of the most relaxing places on the face of the planet, nice little restaurant and bar, beach with hammocks and shade trees, all right on the water, and like anywhere in the Caymans, crystal clear water at that. Hope you enjoy Cayman and the rest of your cruise!

So far so good; yes I am also finding a kilt good to travel in - provided the kilt pin is left off.

    "Kilt sausage" Cracked me up!

Kilted is the only way to fly if you're gonna endure the sardine pack airline seating.

    Enjoy the cruise.

Swedish army knife? You mean Swiss army knife, right?

this is the Swedish Army knife

The Sweden -Switzerland mixup is a very common one, in fact when I was at Mt. Sinai in Miami the nurses kept asking me when I was going back to Switzerland, even though I kept telling them I was swedish
