    Sweet Interlude

So, I'm at work kilted in my Leatherneck tartan today. Stopped by the hospital to donate blood at the blood drive.

The lady who asks all those questions before donation lit up when she saw my kilt and said her ex-husband had a Leatherneck tartan kilt. Then she tells me her first name, which is Gaelic and I don't remember, and goes on and on about being around kilted men and pipers and highland games all her life...sadly, a much younger lady...not sure where she's from, the blood bank folks travel around the remote towns of Arizona harvesting blood.

Her ear rings and necklace were Celtic knot designs. A lucky find for a younger rabble.

But sure a nice change with affirmation and appreciation instead of the usual silly questions.

Ron - When will you learn to always put the small digital camera in the sporran.... We want photographic proof that they would actually accept your blood!

That does sound like it was a pleasant exchange there, Ron. Good thing the sweet, young lass didn't raise your blood pressure too high, though, or you couldn't have donated.

Hey, that's a good suggestion, James! I'm scheduled to donate a double dose of platelets this coming Saturday. I'll take along my camera & ask them to take a photo of me getting drained (in a kilt, of course).

I think I would rather see the young lady.

    Jeez you guys...

Yes, they take my blood...this pic was from the previous donation.

Today was my 74th pint....working on ten gallons. My grandmother donated ten gallons...if she could, I can.

Hmmm! Celtic knot earrings. Wonder if they have those in "guy" earrings...
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Is there a difference? I have had a pierced ear for my than 30 years and did not know. So maybe I shouldn't steal one from my wife anymore

I don't think you would want to wear a big girly hoop earring or something like that, so yes there is a difference. Most are fine for either gender though.

Great my wife doesn't have any of those so I guess I can keep stealing one of hers..

Ted I have seen some very nice celtic knot earrings at the Scottish games we were at in October.
