    My Nanny is too sweet...

My wife and I just returned from a lovely visit at my grandparent's home. Both of my younger sisters are in-state and visiting them as well, so it was nice to see them (and my mom). We had a relaxing but great time together, especially sitting around talking about and looking at photos of my recent honeymoon to Ireland.

Just before leaving, Nanny (an "old school" Irish Catholic lady who's in her mid-80's) asked my mom why I was "so dressed-up" and then said (more like whispered), "Go on...you ask him." My mom replied, "No, Nanny, go ahead and ask him...he won't mind."

Her question: "So why do you wear kilts?"

My answer: "Because I like them and they're comfortable."

Her reply: "Well, then...I won't go trying to change you."

    Aren't Grandmothers to die for?

    FYI, here's how "dressed-up" I was today:

lol. That's nice. My mom and aunt think that my kilt wearing is 'just a phase'. If my grandma were still around, she would say I looled handsome and would walk down the street with me proudly.

Dood, we are much alike you and I.

The cane thing. But we have one more thing in common, we carry our selves well and look pretty damn good doing it.

    Cane and all.

Here's to your grandmother - if only everyone had the good sense she has this world would be a much happier place!

Thanks, Dread. I try to but I'm no Hamish Bicknell...I'd need to lose some weight and expand my kilt collection to ever compete with that fellow.
