Frugal Corner
While browsing around, I noticed that The Frugal Corner had a special on thier 13oz kilts in Blackwatch or Royal Stewart, (see http://www.thefrugalcorner.com/specials.htm). I've got a Blackwatch already, but nothing in red, so I decided to give the Royal Stewart a go. Ordered it last Friday, 12/14, and got the order yesterday, 12/20. Decent turnaround time, especially based on some of the issues I have heard here. I will post pics when I get the chance.
Looks good - no major complaints. Fairly similar to a SWK - maybe a cross between a Standard and a Thrifty. One small issue, though, is with the straps and buckles. These appear to me to be the cheapest strap/buckle combinations I have seen. I had to make the holes on the straps larger to allow for easy buckling. Beyond that, looks pretty good.
Just thought I would share!

Above a Thrifty, but below a Standard.

Are you saying that this kilt is comparable to a standard?

I was going to answer, but others here beat me to it, and in very good detail. As said, it is not equivalent to the SWK standard, but is slightly below that. It is definitely better than the SWK Thrifty. Again, my biggest complaint is the quality of the buckles and straps. The biggest thing I have to say after hearing everyone's complaints of the customer service and delivery, I wanted to let everyone know that it isn't all bad.
Yes, it may have been off the rack - they were a special, so I anticipate it being kilts that they had a large supply of - trying to reduce inventory.
And, again...pics to come soon!

I'm glad you had such a fast turn around. I'm in my fifth week of waiting for delivery (we were told 6-8 weeks). I'm guessing yours was an off-the rack purchase.
