How did YOU find Xmarks?
I've been wondering this for a while and have diligently spent the last 2 months or so trying to find a thread about it, but no joy.
I found Xmarks randomly just over a year ago.
I had just started a diet and workout programme after getting the all clear from the doctor and had made a vow on my journal.
Whenever I bored people with talk of my workouts I would post a picture of a beautiful lady in a corset and a manly man in a kilt to make up for it.
One evening, quite late, I was trying to find pictures of men in kilts that were not a complete 'kilt don't' and I came across Xmarks.
I've been addicted ever since and my kilt kollection has steadily grown since I found other men wearing kilts at more than just weddings.
So what are your stories? How did you find Xmarks?

Back in 2003 I was able to get connected to the internet. I wanted a kilt, so started reading up on them. I came across X Marks in early 2004, but never thought about joining up. In November of 2007 I was able to get someone to help me sign up, I had tried before, but there is the visual thing that you have to copy letters from to keep spammers out. And that's how it happened...
I should add that I forgot about and re-found X Marks several times on the way; as well as, struggled with whether kilts were right for me or not. Here I am though...

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

I did a lot of Googling to find a place to buy my first kilt (for my wedding.) Unfortunately, I didn't pick the best one. It was all so confusing (I'm sure everyone here remembers what that was like ) After I received the kilt, I fell in love with the idea of wearing a kilt in the modern world. "Who says I can't wear a kilt out to dinner and a movie. Or, who says I can't wear a kilt to go grocery shopping or go visit my nieces??" I did some keyword searching for men wearing kilts as modern clothing in everyday situations and landed myself here. I'm also a fan of forums in general. So, voila.

Though I'd only worn a kilt once as a child in my whole life, I knew I was going to wear one for my wedding, and so the wife knew that too, and last year, in scotland, she bought me a 8 yard synthetic kilt very cheeply as the tourist season had just ended. I fell in love with it, its fantastic, and so I was on the internet looking for allthings kilt related, which brought up this website!

A lot like Crocker. Went hunting for kilts on the web and X was one of the returns. Now it is a daily addiction. Is there a recovery group?

I had always liked kilts and finally decided to take the plunge and was doing a bit of research and found Motorman4Life's Kiltday site. A short hop from one of his links and voila' the rest is history...
Cheers

I was interested in getting a kilt around Nov-Dec 2006. I stumbled on to Mr.Kilt's web page and followed a link from there. I suppose Al should get credit for sorta refering me. Does he get a free kilt now?
