Where's the fun in the South?
I'm new to Kilts, but not to the local Pubs. Never seen any gathering in my area. north of Atlanta, Georgia.

There are a lot of kilt wearers in the area (especially your area) but we are slowly getting organized with the Great Southeastern Kilt Society. Do a search for SEKS here on the forum and a few threads will come up about some of our gatherings.
The concept at this point is to do a "central" gathering on a semi-regular schedule, most likely in Atlanta somewhere, and then to have more localized gatherings in the "corners" (Conyers, Buford, Roswell,...)
If you get the itch to schedule a gathering just chime in here and if we anyone can make it they'll respond.
SEKS is steadily growing in frequency and number and it's a great bunch of folks (guys and wives/girlfriends).
Glad you found us!

There have been recent gatherings over the past few months in Conyers, Marietta, and in the center of Atlanta. North Atlanta covers a lot of turf; where would YOU like to see an event. There is a sizable collection of Atlantans here even if not all can get together for every event. However, just about every month has something going on.

I live on the Roswell, Woodstock and Marietta borders of Highway 92. Anything north of 285 is always easy for me.

Don't know how far north of 285 is easy but forget SEKS and search SOKS. We have rubber chickens and international cooperation. BTW Welcome from Ontario, Canada.

Would it be worthwhile identifying the best of the Celtic pubs in the area and working to developing a rotation for the next six months. Roswell would be a great place to start. There is another in Vinings, also others in Marietta, & Va. Highlands. Probably many more. I would NOT recommend the one in Cartersville. Others?

That's in idea I can get behind. I know of The Harp Irish Pub, Churchill's Pub, Meehan's Pub in Sandysprings, and Loafing Leprechaun in Alpharetta

If folks agree, why not simply pick a Saturday night that would be consitent each month and peg them for at least the first half of the year if not longer. That leads to some predictability; something that we know is coming and can put on the calendar long in advance to arrange work schedules and make it easier for others in the region to plan to join us. They all sound good to me, but preferably not those that we know will be so loud we can't talk or so crwded or small that we wouldn't have room.
